Finding the balance between weights and cardio

Many guys like the idea of getting ‘big’ as well as ‘ripped’ and whilst some fitness instructors will tell you to focus on the weights, others will outline the importance of regular cardio. One worry for many people who aim to bulk up is that if they start running or swimming, they’ll lose some of the muscle they’re trying to gain. But cardio is one of the best ways to burn fat, so you will have to make some room for it if you’re filling yourself up with protein and your hitting the weights on a daily basis. The best way to combine the two is by setting yourself a daily workout for a particular area of exercise. So Monday can be a day working on your arms and chest. Tuesday can be a leg day, whilst Wednesday can be a day or interval training. Thursday can be a rest; Friday can be a day of working your core and so on. If you maintain a pattern and create a workout that’s 75% weights and 25% cardio, you’ll be able to get big whilst tightening up and losing any body fat.
