Christmas is the season of indulgence; a time for sweet treats, cuts of turkey and plenty of alcohol. Well, that’s according to the television adverts and magazine posters. You can, however, have a healthier Christmas by saving the serious snacking for the big day.
In the run up to Christmas, you may be offered plenty of naughty treats by friends and colleagues, but just say no, say you’re saving yourself for Christmas. You can slob out on the 25th, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. You don’t have to spend every week of December eating junk food. For a healthier Christmas, we recommend lots of vegetables, but that doesn’t mean you have to go without comfort food. Stews and soups are two really good options, and you can have fruity desserts. Just make sure you’re cautious, and try not to make the whole month of December a write-off.
