Dealing with a gluten intolerance

First things first, an intolerance is not an allergy, I often have to explain this to my friends so I thought I’d get that out of the way instantly. An allergy is an abnormal reaction to the immune system (usually to a particular food) and the reaction can at times be mild or life threatening. Food intolerances can cause symptoms such as stomach cramps, bloating and diarrhea, but there is no allergic reaction. That said some intolerances can cause serious problems if particular foods are not avoided, especially gluten, which can be found in wheat, barley and rye. If you’re intolerant to gluten and you continuously eat it, you can ruin your stomach lining which will cause serious issues with your health. Anyone who says ‘gluten free’ people are full of lies really needs to get an education.
